International Union of Muslim Scholars:

To end occupation is a religious mandate

The International Union of Muslim Scholars has condemned Israeli brutal carnage of Palestinian women and children, shatter of houses, mosques, churches and hospitals and cutting water and electricity in the besieged Gaza Strip.
To end occupation is a religious mandate
The Ijtihad and Fatwa Committee at the international Islamic organization has issued a statement to call on the Muslim states to fulfill their responsibility toward the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza stressing that to put end to occupation as a religious mandate for all Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The statement noted that measures by Gaza residents and all Palestinians for liberation of their lands from the occupying Zionists is a religious mandate.

It hailed the previous fatwas (religious statement) issued by other fatwa committees naming al-Azhar and fatwa committee of Jordan in line with ending occupation in the Islamic lands.

The Committee of the International Union of Muslim Scholars urged all Muslims to aid the Palestinians in Gaza.

It also warned that any support for the oppressor makes one a partner in its oppression and called the western countries that backed Israeli regime with miliary, logistic and intelligence support as partners in its atrocities and carnage of the Palestinians.

The fatwa committee of the International Union of Muslim Scholars called for establishment of a military alliance of all Muslim countries to secure the region and deter atrocities.

The statement highlighted importance of media, military, financial and diplomatic support for the Palestinians as a “religious mandate” calling for isolation and boycott of the Israeli regime.
It also warned of any form of normalization of relations with Israeli regime as Haram (religiously banned) calling on the Muslim signatories of the normalization deal to severe ties with Israeli regime.

According to the fatwa committee, forced evacuation of the Palestinians in Gaza Strip counts for a crime as the international laws ban that.

The International Union of Islamic Scholars issued the statement on the 18th day of Israeli onslaught against the Palestinians in Gaza. Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched operation al-Aqsa Flood, an unprecedented attack on the Israeli-occupied territories in retaliation for their atrocities against the Palestinians and holy al-Aqsa Mosque. Israel’s unrelenting onslaughts has left more than 5,000 Palestinians dead, mainly women and children.
