Turkish professor warns:

Islamic unity, seriously threatened by ignorance

Member of the academic board at Fatih University in Turkey called holy Qur’an as the guideline to be followed in the path towards unity and warned that the identity of the Islamic nation is serious threatened due to ignorance of some Muslims.

Mohammad Nourdogan, attending the 3rd Regional Islamic Unity Conference held in Iran’s city of Urmia highlighted the role of regional summits and congratulated the Islamic Republic on the great achievement to hold the meeting, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” The world is in demand of solidarity as the holy Qur’an has recommended people to get together and maintain unity.”
 
The Turkish scholar said,” The identity and unity of the Islamic nation is seriously threatened due to ignorance of some Muslims and hostility of the enemies.”
 
He called on the Shia and Sunni scholars to convene and find ways to protect the Islamic identity of Muslims.
 
He underlined necessity of fundamental changes in order to reach true Islamic unity.
 
Nourdogan concluded that Muslims should focus on the Islamic culture and civilization in order to strengthen the ideology and reach solidarity in the world of Islam.
 
Organized by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought the third regional Islamic Unity Conference discusses “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values”.
 
Shia and Sunni scholars from Russia, Turkey, Syria, Georgia and Iraq are attending the international conference scheduled to be held in the city of Urmia on August 9.
  
The regional conferences are in line with the Islamic Unity Conference annually held concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
