Theology professor calls for awakening, proximity in Islamic nation

A prominent professor from Iraqi Kurdistan region warned of seditions within the Islamic nation calling for awakening of the Muslims in the face of anti-Islam plots.

Sabbah Barzanji, theology professor attending the 3rd Regional Islamic Unity Conference held in Iran’s Urmia city, expressed regret over the conflicts both within the world of Islam and with the foreign states, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He referred to some Muslims living in their illusions and said,” Such a nation should be first awakened and then the elites should lead the public towards proximity.”
 
He hailed the efficiency of such conferences and the perfect comprehension by the Islamic Republic on the Islamic unity affairs.
 
Sabbah Barzanji also said the Islamic nation should expand ideological, political, security, cultural and sports cooperation as part of efforts to establish the Union of Islamic countries.
 
Iraqi thinker urged for underlining the commonalities of Muslims as a way to confront seditions in the world of Islam.
 
He noted,” The 3rd Regional Islamic Unity Conference aims to stress the common values based on justice, as holy Qur’an and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) highlighted.
 
Barzanji praised the achievements of the Islamic Republic in promoting unity among Muslims.
 
Organized by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought the third regional Islamic Unity Conference discusses “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values”.
 
Shia and Sunni scholars from Russia, Turkey, Syria, Georgia and Iraq will be attending the international conference scheduled to be held in the city of Urmia on August 9.
 
The second edition of the conference was held in the northern province of Golestan.
 
Attended by a number of Muslim elites from Iran and neighboring countries on the north, the second regional conference on unity in Muslim world discussed proximity of Muslims and modern Islamic civilization in the second phase of the Islamic revolution.
