3rd Regional Islamic Unity Conference kicks off in Urmia

Organized by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, the 3rd Regional Islamic Unity Conference opened its work in the city of Urmia on Wednesday morning.

Religious and cultural figures from the countries neighboring Iran on north and to the west are attending the one-day event on “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values”, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Elites and intellectuals from Russia, Turkey, Syria, Georgia and Iraq are meeting in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province.
 
The second edition of the conference was held in the northern province of Golestan.

 
Attended by a number of Muslim elites from Iran and neighboring countries on the north, the second regional conference on unity in Muslim world discussed proximity of Muslims and modern Islamic civilization in the second phase of the Islamic revolution.

 
The regional conferences are in line with the Islamic Unity Conference annually held concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
