Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought issued a message to Syria’s Minister of Endowments to offer condolence following the powerful earthquake which has killed thousands of people in the country.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari in his message to Mohammad Abdul Sattar al-Sayyed to express sympathy with the Syrian officials and nation as deadly quake hit the country, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Iranian cleric prayed for blessings and best assistance of the Almighty God for the quake-stricken people in Syria.
 
He also expressed hope for speedy recovery of those injured in Monday earthquake.
 
A powerful 7.8 magnitude tremor has hit Turkey and Syria on Monday leaving nearly 19,000 people dead and thousands of others injured.

 
Rescue and search teams from 70 countries are carrying out operation in both countries.
 
Iran’s first batch of humanitarian aid arrived in Syria early on Tuesday followed by three other flights carrying further assistance for the quake-stricken people there.
