Iran, Belarus boosting economic ties 

In the meeting of economic activists of Iran and Belarus, which was held in Tehran during the visit of the Prime Minister of Belarus, the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on the cooperation of chambers of commerce.
 Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus, arrived in Tehran early on Tuesday.
During his trip to Tehran, the Belarusian PM met with the First Vice President, Mohammad Mokhber.
The two sides discussed the expansion of bilateral relations in various fields, including transit, export and import, energy supply, agricultural products, and the transfer of technology and equipment.
Both sides also depicted a comprehensive road map for the development of economic relations between Tehran and Minsk.
Also, a joint meeting between the economic activists of Iran and Belarus was held in the presence of Mohammad Mokhber, the first vice president of the Islamic Republic, and Roman Glavchenko, the Prime Minister of Belarus, on Tuesday evening.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation between the chambers of commerce of the two countries was signed.
Referring to the development of a comprehensive road map for the economic relations between the two countries, Iran's VP expressed hope that with the finalization and implementation of this document, the commercial relations between the two countries will improve.
Referring to the US and Western sanctions against Iran and Belarus, Mokhber added that these sanctions double the necessity of cooperation between the two countries to take steps toward removing the restrictions and neutralizing the sanctions.
The First Vice President called the waterways in southern and northern Iran an exceptional opportunity for the development of transit and said that with the completion of the Rasht to Astara Railway, it would be possible to connect Belarus to Bandar Abbas.
He emphasized facilitating the movement of traders and removing banking barriers between Iran and Belarus.
Roman Glavchenko, the Prime Minister of Belarus, also considered facilitating the business sector necessary for the activation of the private sector of the two countries.
The Prime Minister of Belarus also announced his country's readiness for joint cooperation with Iran in industry, trade, and production of agricultural machinery and stated that today is the time to restore economic relations and compensate for the shortcomings.
