Afghan scholar: Islamic Ummah’s survival, security depends on unity

Mawlawi Habibullah Hussam, Chairman of the Islamic Brotherhood Council of Afghanistan, in his address in the conference says: Islamic Ummah is upon two major pillars. First, divine monotheism illuminated the path of all divine prophets and religious teachers, leading to the unity of belief and the unity of the word.
Afghan scholar: Islamic Ummah’s survival, security depends on unity
The full speech of the Afghan scholar comes as follows:
Raise be to Allah, God of the worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of God, his family and all his companions.
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
Thus said Allah the Blessed and the Almighty:
“Believers are each other's brothers. Restore peace among your brothers.”
The Blessed and the Almighty in another occurrence said:
“All of you united hold fast to the rope of God and do not scatter”
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
My sincere salutations to all the audience and the people of distinction present in this beneficial and magnificent conference which is worthy of Islamic scholars, Sharia and Ummah.
In addition, I would like to thank all the listeners who spend their time on a significant and massive issue which has broken the Islamic Ummah’ back this day.
I will briefly discuss this issue with the listeners and scholars and other speakers.
Islamic Ummah is upon two major pillars.
First, the divine monotheism which illuminated the path of all divine prophets and religious teachers, leading to unity of belief and unity of word.
Second, Islamic Ummah’s survival and security depends on unity.
Whenever unity of word and monotheism are held up by Muslims, Islamic Ummah will reach the heights of maturity, integration and mastery.
If either of these two pillars are violated and become flawed, Islamic Ummah will reach the rock bottom.
In this case, the worst creatures of the world will come to power and they will lead plunder and trample on Muslims’ fate.
What corrupts monotheism and unity among Muslims is discord, and what eradicates discord is mutual reconciliation.
The Holy Quran perspicuously says at the beginning of Surah Al-Anfal:
“set aright matters of your difference”
The reason of such perspicuity is to introduce the inter-personal conflicts as a lethal disease that need to be cured; they must be replaced with peace.
We have read in Surah Al-Hujurat: “Therefore, make peace between your brothers”.
It is based on the fact that: “The faithful are indeed brothers. Therefore, make peace between your brothers.”
There are two verses in Quran that raise the voice of peace and then speak about peace and reconciliation in family: “and reconciliation is better”. When God the Almighty declares something as good, obedient servants of God must recognize God as the impeccable good and obey.
Thus, what God declares as evil, must be recognized as evil by men.
Muslims do not have the right to be hesitant when something is declared by God to be good or evil.
Faith demands that when something is declared as evil by God, believers must obey.
We have to obey God’s commands if he declares something as good.
There is an example when God the Almighty declares something as good: “There is no good in much of their secret talks, excepting him who enjoins charity or what is right or reconciliation between people”

In this verse also the Holy Quran perspicuously says that sittings and secret talks bring no good to the Islamic Ummah.
In fact, good works and charities or mutual reconciliation among Muslims bring good.
The central issue is that today in the world of Islam, religious discord is spread out, Muslims scattered by many sects and Islamic communities have been shrunk geographically into smaller lands.
Through religious discord, Islamic communities have been reconfigured and mosques dwindled.
Although Masjid al-Haram is the focal point of prayers of all of Muslims, they treat each other with hostility, enmity, oppression and harassment.
They pray to one God but with hearts filled with discord.
They array themselves for Salat in mosques with hearts filled with discord and against other Muslims’ rows.
The first and essential thing for the Islamic world is that Muslims reconcile with each other,
Accept each other completely,
Be patient toward each other and persistent toward issues and challenges, to deliver the Islamic world from discord to peace and security.
When the Islamic society reaches peace and security, the prosperity of faith, science, civilization, culture will surely follow as a result of unity and integrity of the Islamic Ummah.
Until Islamic Ummah do not live in peace and harmony, we will be treading on the path of Satan and the path made by the evil enemies of Islamic Ummah.
"Our recognition of the enemy has to reach a level that we can burn the roots of discord."
Among the different kinds of seditions inflicting Islamic societies are discord, enmity, hatred and envy
Which have devastated major parts of the Islamic society.
Poverty is a result of discord. Being oppressed is a result of discord.
Islamic societies are lagging behind due to discord.
These are all results of having meaningless conflicts, inflating quarrels, and having conflicts that lead to bloodshed and immense catastrophes.
Today we witness bloodshed in mosques of God.
Today we see witness that mosques of God, places of prayer, Friday prayers and congregational prayers have become lurking places to murder Muslims by the hands of Muslims.
This is a deviated way of thought that deviates Islamic Ummah from the path of Islam, impedes Islamic Ummah from reaching the sharia’s goals,
detains the mastery and lordship of Islamic Ummah, makes Islamic Ummah shackled by its enemies, makes Islamic Ummah poor and paralyzed, and bars Islamic Ummah from access to science, technology and contemporary advances and reaching the path of civilization, progress and excellence.
So, each of the scholars, speakers, media, believers, virtuous people, thinkers, those who are concerned about religion, those who are concerned about Islam. And those who are concerned about Islamic Ummah and society must hold hands, stand together, welcome and embrace each other as brothers.
Based on this verse: “The faithful are indeed brothers”, we have to salute each other as brothers until we reach a point that the internal structure of Islamic Ummah is strong and fortified in order to array against aggressive, offensive and invading enemies in unity, strong and with full force. And defend the Islamic Ummah honorably.
"I asked God to forgive me, you, and other Muslims," the Afghan thinker concluded.
