The Minister of Oil considered the relations between Iran and Venezuela as having a historical background and added: "We want to use all our capacities to develop relations and joint cooperation."
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji met on Tuesday to discuss ways to overcome the impact of US sanctions on both countries.
Referring to a constructive meeting with Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, Maduro wrote on his Twitter account that ways to strengthen fraternal relations and cooperation on energy issues were discussed.
Javad Owji's visit to Venezuela with the world's highest crude oil reserves came just weeks after US officials meeting amid rising global crude oil prices over the Ukraine war.
