FM Zarif hails leading Islamic proximity figure

Iranian Foreign Minister has praised late Seyyed Hadi Khosrowshahi, Iran's former ambassador in the Vatican over years of serving Foreign Ministry and Islamic movements, in a commemoration ceremony held online on Sunday.

Mohammad Javad Zarif in his speech at the virtual ceremony highlighted the deep insight of late Khosrowshahi in fulfilling his responsibilities both in the Vatican and Cairo leaving a bright record of his services for Iran's Foreign Ministry, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He called the former ambassador to the Vatican as a leading Islamic proximity figure in Muslim world and an active person in promoting Islamic movements both in Iran and across the globe.
 
Iranian Foreign Minister also lauded late Khosrowshahi for establishing relations with different walks of life in the Islamic nation through proper behavior with everyone to maintain Islamic unity.
 
Other participants in this online ceremony have also detailed the different characteristics and contributions of Iran's former ambassador to the Vatican.
 
Seyyed Hadi Khosrowshahi (1939-2020) was prominent Iranian cleric and the country's first ambassador to the Vatican.
