The national occasion falls on the birth anniversary of Zeynab (AS), granddaughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

This year, the occasion attracted special significance in light of the indispensable sacrifices that have been made over the past year by the country's medical staff in the face of the new coronavirus outbreak.

The birth anniversary of Hazrat Zeinab (AS), sister of the thrid Shia Imam and granddaughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is dubbed as National Nurses Day in Iran a day to mark the endeavors of nurses across the country.
