Iran to attend Marco Polo Silk Road art festival
Iran's Ambassador to Zagreb Parviz Esmaeili and Director of the Croatian Art Festival Marco Polo-Silk Road Igor Prižmić explored avenues for promoting cultural-artistic cooperation between the two countries on Thursday.

Croatians believe that Marco Polo was born in Korčula Island and the house attributed to him is one of the tourist attractions of this country.

The festival is held each year under the motto of 'Silk Road--The Path of Dialogue' in Korčula, south of Croatia, since 2014.

Iranian films have many enthusiasts in Croatia, as they participate in that country's festivals.

More than 15 world countries have been attending the major 20-day event since 2014 which according to the director is the venue to boost dialogue and cultural cooperation among countries.

Just as Marco Polo had travelled the distance, organizers of this artistic festival go the distance with a focus on Art productions from the countries included along the Silk Road. Artistic moves, endeavors, trends, and productions from the new to old, historiographical to experimental and mainstream are captured and presented in the annual cultural event.
