Huj. Shahriari felicitates newly appointed chairman of Indonesia's Islamic council

Secretary General of Iran's World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has issued a message to felicitate Shiekh Kiai Miftachul Akhyar over his new position as chairman of Ulema Council in the country.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, president of the leading Islamic unity body in Iran addressed top Indonesian scholar in his message to express hope for mutual cooperation to clear the tarnished image of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Iranian cleric highlighted the key commonalities between the two Islamic bodies from Iran and Indonesia and called for cooperation for a counter measure against violence and terror campaigns that struggle to relate to Islam.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari hailed Indonesia's Shiekh Kiai Miftachul Akhyar for learning from the moral school and ideologies of senior teachers in the country among them Seyyed bin Alawi Maliki.
 
He expressed hope for closer relations and cooperation between Indonesian Ulema Council and Iran's World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
 
Indonesian Ulema Council is the top Muslim clerical body in the country that comprises several Muslim groups. An important function of the body is to issue halal certificates for products.
 
Indonesian government, in establishment of the MUI, meant to strengthen religion to ensure national resilience, to involve scholars in national development and also maintain interfaith harmony in the country.
