New OIC secretary general elected during 47th session of foreign ministers

Hussein Ibrahim Taha (from the Republic of Chad) has been elected as the new Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic cooperation (OIC) for a five-year term starting from 17 November 2021.

Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Yousef Al-Othaimeen, extended his sincere congratulations to Hussein Ibrahim Taha during the 47th session of the Council of Foreign ministers held in Niamey, Niger.

Al-Othaimeen expressed his wishes for success to the new Secretary General, in his mission to continue working for promoting joint Islamic action, in the interest of the peoples and countries across Muslim world.
 
47th session of the OIC Council of foreign ministers was held in Niamey, Niger as representatives of the member states exchanged views on the theme of ““United against Terrorism for Peace and Development”.”
