Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has called for investigation into assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Iranian Defense Ministry's Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND).

Ayatollah Khamenai in the message issued on Saturday stressed punishment of the perpetrators behind the crime and also continuation of the researches pursued by the late scientist Fakhrizadeh, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The Leader in this message hailed the assassinated researcher for sacrificing his life for great scientific objectives and hailed “martyrdom” as the award for his struggles.
 
Ayatollah Khamenei called on the executive authorities for investigation into the assassination of Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh and punishment of the perpetrators behind the attack as well as continuation of the scientific endeavors pursued by the late scientist.
 

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of Iranian Defense Ministry’s Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND) was targeted in a multi-pronged attack involving at least one explosion and small fire by a number of assailants in Absard city of Damavand County, Tehran Province on Friday.
