Imran Khan urges UN to form coalition against Islamophobia

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has called on the United Nations to declare an “International Day to Combat Islamophobia” and form a coalition against the plague.


Imran Khan, in his prerecorded message addressing the 75th UN General Assembly on Friday, condemned the French satirical weekly for disrespecting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) calling on the world body to react against the Islamophobia across the globe, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He warned of rising nationalism and worsening Islamophobia movements allowing Islamophobes to safely attack Muslims in different countries.
 
Imran Khan referred to the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo as a clear instance of Islamophobia saying, “Willful provocations” and “incitements to hate” must be universally outlawed.
 
Pakistani Prime Minister made the comments in his address to the 75th UN General Assembly on Friday.
