The Iranian Foreign Ministry said Iran will never forget the complicity of western powers with ruthless crimes committed by Saddam Hussein in his war with Iran in the 1980s, specifically a chemical weapons attack against the northwestern city of Sardasht.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said Iran will never forget the complicity of western powers with ruthless crimes committed by Saddam Hussein in his war with Iran in the 1980s, specifically a chemical weapons attack against the northwestern city of Sardasht.
"It's been 33yrs since chemical attack in Sardasht. We ... will never forget the support & complicity of US/Europe in the horrible attack by Saddam. We did & will never forget the UNSC silence on this heinous crime. We rebuild whatever they destroyed,” the ministry tweeted on Saturday.
Sardasht, located in the province of West Azarbaijan, was targeted in a chemical weapons attack by the Iraqi Army in 1988.
Iran says the chemical material needed for the attacks were provided to Iraq by Germany, France and several other western governments.
The attack left about 650 casualties to make Sardasht the third biggest victim of WMDs after Japan's Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
According to Iran, over 56,000 people lost their lives in Iraqi chemical attacks from 1981 to 1988. AH
