Egypt’s al-Azhar University stressed importance of coexistence between Islam and Christianity and the academy endeavors for that objective.

Shiekh Ahmad al-Tayyeb, director of renowned Egyptian university of al-Azhar met with Sir Geoffry Adams, UK ambassador to Egypt stressing the special attention of the academy for relations between Muslims and British churches, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He referred to meetings of al-Azhar members to Britain’s Canterbury Cathedral as part of efforts to bridge the younger generation in the east and west.
 
British official in this meeting underlined the historical ties between Cairo and London hailing the advancement of bilateral ties.
 
Al-Azhar grand mufti expressed satisfaction over cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries and stressed more attention on the themes chosen for student scholarships.
