Prayer leader of Najaf criticized the recent surprise visit made by US President to Iraq stressing that the Arab country is not in need of the United States.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Sadreddin Qapanchi, Friday prayer leader of Najaf, in his weekly sermon slammed the recent visit made by the US President to Iraq as ‘desperate’ stressing that the Arab country is not in need of the United States, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” Trump entered al-Assad Air base quite panicked.”
 
The cleric expressed gratitude for Iraqi government rejection of a meeting by the US President and noted,” Iraq is quite capable of maintaining its security and stability and as there is no need for the US forces they should immediately evacuate our country.”
 
Top religious figure extended congratulations for the Christian community in Iraq over the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and the New Year 2019.
 
He hailed the Iraqi Christians for their perseverance against Daesh terrorists calling on those in refuge to return to the country.
