Prominent Bahraini clerics have issued a statement to extend condolences over killing 42 members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) during a procession to mark the day of Arba’een denouncing the violence and attack launched by Nigerian army, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Clerics in their statement stressed that the blood of those killed on Arba’een will not be in vain but will make a contribution to growing ‘tree of Islam.’

Top scholars also noted that the blood of Nigerian martyrs will give lessons of resistance to defend the right and reiterated,” To make sacrifices for safeguarding religious rituals will continue despite opposition and confrontation by tyrants of the time.”

Previously, Coalition of Bahrain’s March 14 Alliance had issued a separate statement to reprimand the attack by Nigerian army against participants in Arba’een ceremony and noted the collaboration of al-Saud Takfiri terrorists in the attack.

In two separate days on Sunday and Monday Nigerian army opened fire on members of the IMN who had marched to demand the release of their imprisoned leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, jailed since 2015.

Participants in this ceremony which was held concurrent with Arba’een, commemoration of Imam Hussein (AS), were attacked by live fire and tear gas as total number of 42 members of IMN lost their lives during the two-day peaceful protests near the capital Abuja.
