Iran’s Kurdistan to host Islamic proximity conference
Iranian Province of Kurdistan is scheduled to host first conference on proximity of Islamic denominations in line with efforts to boost solidarity between Shia and Sunni communities.

As the joint effort of Sanandaj Islamic Azad University and grand Islamic center in western Iran, the first national Islamic proximity conference on “Proximity of Islamic Denominations, Opportunities, Prospects”, will be held in Kurdistan Province, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought will deliver the opening speech at the one-day event which will be participated by Shia and Sunni prominent figures, scholars and university students.
The event will discuss necessity of efforts to boost unity and sympathy and also introducing the capabilities and opportunities for development.
Islamic unity is the main focus for the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought which has been holding the great Islamic Unity Conference concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) every year.
