12 Aug 2018 - 16:20

Iranian athletes have clinched two medals, including one silver, at the Moscow 2018 World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Russia.

On Saturday and the second day of the tournament at the Alexander Gomelsky Universal Sports Hall CSKA, Armin Hadipour did not show up for the final contest of the men’s minus 58-kilogram weight category against Jang Jun from South Korea due to injury, and sufficed to the silver medal.

Hadipour defeated Italian competitor Vito Dell'Aquila in the semifinals to book himself a place in the title challenge.

Earlier in the competitions, Abolfazl Yaghoubi had earned a bronze medal in the minus 68-kilogram weight class.

The Moscow 2018 World Taekwondo Grand Prix kicked off on Friday, and will wrap up on Sunday.

Some 256 athletes from 58 countries, including Great Britain, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia and South Korea, are reportedly competing in the sports event.
