'Al-Quds is pivot point for Islamic unity'

Prominent religious cleric Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi hailed high turnout for this year rally, demanding Muslims worldwide to shift their attention to the prime importance of such this day and the issue of Al-Quds, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The religious cleric beckoned to the necessity of unity among Muslims and influential role of Palestine in this regard stressing, “Al-Quds is the main issue of World of Islam and all Muslims.”
 
Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi went on to note that Al-Quds can be offered as a model for unity in the world of Islam and Muslim nations.
 
The International Quds Day is an annual event initiated by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979 as a way to express solidarity with the Palestinians and underscoring importance of the holy Quds to Muslims. It is also a chance to show Muslims hatred towards atrocities of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian nation.
 
As well as focusing on Palestine on Al Quds day, the march was acknowledged as a symbol for all oppressed people globally.
