Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran hailed the leading role of martyrs in eight-year defense of the Islamic Republic in the face of Iraq's 1980-88 imposed war against the country.

Addressing organizers of the Congress entitled "14 thousand Martyrs", Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran hailed the leading role of martyrs in eight-year defense of the Islamic Republic in the face of Iraq's 1980-88 imposed war against the country, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

"One of the main tasks forwarded by enemies was provoking workers into waging stagnation in the factories," stressed the religious cleric lauding workers for foiling the foresaid hatched plots of enemies.

"But during these elapsed years, the workers stood up firmly, rejecting their enemy's hand," pointed out Supreme Leader.
