Six nationals among world’s top taekwondo athletes

The latest ranking list issued by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) contains names of six Iranian taekwondoka.

The WTF Top 10 ranking list for October 2017, which takes into account events until end of September, was released with Armin Hadipour enjoying the second best place in -54kg weight category.

Also, Farzan Ashourzadeh maintained his position in the third place of -58kg division. Abolfazl Yaghubi has landed fifteenth in -68kg group.

Representing Iran in -74kg weight division, Masoud Hajizavareh has been placed in the fifth spot on the World Ranking list while Mehdi Khodabakhshi (-80kg) enjoys the eighth position.

Additionally in -87kg group, Ahamad Mohammadi has jumped three spots advancing to the fourth place while Iran’s other representative in same category has no ranking better than 23rd.
Meanwhile, the third position in the ranking list for +87-kilogram division has been occupied by Iran’s heavy-weight taekwondo practitioner Sajjad Mardani.

The World Ranking list for women revealed that Iran’s Fatemeh Maddah (-46kg) ranks 42nd while Nahid Kiani and Soodabeh Poursadeghi (-49kg) rank 47th and 71th, respectively.
Kimia Alizadeh, Iran’s only female Olympic medalist in the field, has been placed in the fifteenth position of -62kg weight group.

Moreover, Zahra Pouresmaeil (-73kg) and Akram Khodabandeh (+73kg) have occupied 14th and 19th places in the most recent ranking list released by WTF.
