Iranian delegate partakes Kazakh FM’s banquet

The head of Iranian delegation in seventh two-day round of the Astana-format talks on Syria Hossein Jaberi Ansari participated at an official banquet hosted by Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov in Astana.

In the ceremony set up to honor the heads of the three guarantee states of Iran, Russia, and Turkey, the agenda of the talks and the documents to be drafted and signed were discussed by the participants.

The United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, who is not participating in the seventh international Astana meeting on resolving the situation in Syria, announced on Thursday that a new round of talks aimed at ending the Syrian crisis will open in a month’s time.

The seventh international meeting on Syria, currently underway in Kazakhstan’s capital of Astana, kicked on Monday with the aim to reach agreements between the negotiating parties on the two issues that have not been finalized during the previous six rounds – exchange of prisoners and demining conflict zones.
