Over 51 Daeshis killed in Turkey air strikes in northern Syria
More than 51 Daesh terrorists have been killed in Turkish air force strikes in and around al-Bab city, northern Syria.

“Saturday’s air raids led to the destruction of 56 Daesh-held buildings and three command centers in al-Bab city and the nearby town of Baza’a,” said a statement released by the Turkish military.
It added that among the 51 confirmed dead in the strike were three high-ranking members of the terrorist group.
On August 24, 2016, the Turkish air force and special ground forces kicked off Operation Euphrates Shield inside Syria in a declared bid to support the Free Syrian Army militants and rid the border area of Daesh terrorists and fighters from the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Democratic Union Party (PYD).
A member of Turkey’s Euphrates Shield Brigades added that their operations have displaced a large number of terrorists from al-Bab.
“Supported by a Turkish air cover, our forces seized control of key areas in eastern al-Bab, closing in on Daesh inside the city,” said Abu Iad al-Shami.
Jordan jets target Daesh in south Syria
Meanwhile, the Jordanian air force announced that it had carried out several air strikes on Friday night, destroying a bomb factory, barracks and an ammunition depot in the Syria’s southern regions.
"The operation resulted in killing and wounding a number of members of the terrorist gang in addition to destroying a number of vehicles," said a statement released by the Petra news agency.
Jordan is part of the US-led coalition which has been conducting airstrikes against what are said to be the Daesh terrorists inside Syria since September 2014 without any authorization from the Damascus government or a UN mandate. It has repeatedly been accused of targeting and killing civilians.
Syrian forces make further gains against terrorists
On Saturday, government forces gained control over several regions held by militants to the south and east of the al-Seen airport in the countryside of the capital city Damascus.
Earlier, they announced that heavy clashes with the militants were currently underway, during which a large number of terrorists had been killed and their equipment destroyed.
Several regions in the country’s western province of Homs and eastern city of Dayr al-Zawr were also freed from the terrorists.
Syria has been battling foreign-backed militancy for nearly six years. Over the past few months, the Syrian army has made significant gains against terrorists, including the liberation of the strategic city of Aleppo in late 2016.
