Top Iranian scholar attended joint meeting between religious elites from Iran and Croatia expressing satisfaction for close interfaith ties in Croatia saying that the cooperation must be set as role model for all countries.

Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, Supreme Leader’s advisor in Muslim world affairs, hailed the centenarian history of Islam in Croatia saying that the coexistence of different Islamic denominations in the country is proof for cooperation morale among the people and that can be set as an example for the world, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He praised the active role of ex Croatian top Mufti and his successor, Aziz Hasanovic, and said,” Accurate teachings of these religious leaders has resulted to the blessing that not even one Croatian Muslim joining terrorist groups which are active under the name of Islam.
 
The cleric noted that Islam is based on the nature of man and said,” Despite the kind nature of Islam, we are witness that terrorism moves against Muslims and Islam under the name of so-called Islamic movements.”
 
Siboh Sarkissian, top Christian bishop of Armenian community in Tehran expressed condolences over the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) stressing necessity of interfaith dialogue as a top priority.
 
He called Iran as the cradle of interfaith dialogue relating on the history of the country as a pioneer of friendly ties among followers of different religions due to the open minds of the kings ruling Iran since beginning.
 
Christian leader noted that the friendly approach of Iranian government towards different religions should be appreciated.
