Top French parliamentarian to visit Iran

President of French National Assembly Claude Bartolone will pay an official visit to Tehran to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.
Top French parliamentarian to visit Iran

Bartolone will lead a parliamentary delegation to Tehran on September 5 at the invitation of Iran’s Parliament speaker, Ali Larijani.

During his four-day stay, the top French parliamentarian will meet with Iranian authorities including Larijani, President Hassan Rouhani and Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

Senior officials from Iran and many countries across the world have so far exchanged visits after the Islamic Republic and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council – the United States, France, Britain, China and Russia – plus Germany started implementing the nuclear agreement they cliched in July last year, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), on January 16.

Under the deal, all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran by the European Union, the Security Council and the US would be lifted. Iran has, in return, put some limitations on its nuclear activities.

Malaysia parliament speaker expected in Tehran on Sunday
Meanwhile, speaker of Malaysian parliament (Dewan Rakyat), Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, plans to visit Tehran for talks with Iranian officials.

Mulia is expected to arrive in Tehran for a four-day official visit later on Sunday at the invitation of the Iranian parliament speaker. He will discuss bilateral issues in meetings with senior Iranian authorities.
