Iran stands by those defending human dignity

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is the flagbearer of the defense of human dignity in order that mankind can benefit from this dignity, only in Iran but throughout the entire world," Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Ebrahim Raeisi, the custodian of the Astan Quds Razavi, said during his speech to pilgrims celebrating the birth anniversary of the eighth Shi’a Imam, Imam Ali al-Ridha, at his burial place in Mashhad.

Stating that Iran’s conflict with the imperialist powers of the world is over the case of human dignity, he said, “For nearly seventy years, the imperialist powers have violated the human dignity of the people of Palestine and now in Bahrain, Ayatollah Isa Qasim raised the flag of the defense of human dignity.”

His Eminence said the imperialists’ movement against the resistance of the Bahraini people intends to undermine their human dignity and added that the Takfiri ideology was created by the Zionists and the imperial powers in order to destroy their human dignity.

Hujjat al-Islam Raeisi pointed out that the message of the birth of Imam al-Ridha to all of us is that human dignity cannot be attained except through the fear of God, which cannot be achieved through any power in the universe because there is no power except God.

According to Rasa, the Shi’a cleric said that, Imam al-Ridha taught the people about the position of wilayah (guardianship) and opposition to oppression to such a degree that the tyrant caliph, al-Mamoun, was dishonoured and discredited in the eyes of the people.

“Just as Imam al-Ridha weakened the enemies through tireless resistance and fighting, today on the tenth anniversary of Israel’s 33-Day War against Hezbollah, we must advance the importance of resistance in the Islamic society and introduce Imam al-Ridha as the paradigm of resistance,” he said.
