'Resistance achieves a great victory against Israel'
A Lebanese Sunni scholar stated that Condoleezza Rice once said that one of the main goals of the 33-Day War was the realization of a new Middle East plan to attack the countries which support Palestine and the Resistance Axis.

Shaykh Suhayb al-Habli, a Lebanese Sunni scholar and member of the Assembly of Muslim Scholars told Rasa News, "with Israel’s defeat in the July 2006 33-Day War, a new project called ISIL was placed on the agenda of the Israeli and American intelligence services of which the purpose was to create wars in Syria and Iraq and destabilize Lebanon through a proxy wars."
"This time, Israel and reactionary Arab states were crippled in Syria and Iraq and the Islamic Resistance [Hezbollah] was once again able to achieve a great victory," he underlined.
The religious cleric explained that Israel’s aim during the 33-Day War was to gain dominance over the Islamic Resistance, but with the grace of God, they were able to overcome the Zionist regime and despite the collaborations between Arab countries and Western governments in support of Israel, the promise of God, who said “How many a small party has overcome a larger party by God’s will!” [Quran: 2:249] was realized.
“This indicates that despite all the hardships, sacrifices and endurance that Hezbollah has accomplished through the firm support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a great transformation occurred in the history of the Islamic ummah in 2006 which returned dignity to the Islamic ummah,” he said.
Shaykh al-Habli said that Hezbollah in Lebanon, along with Palestine, Syria, Iraq and Iran, is one of the main parts of the Islamic Resistance Axis. As the former United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said, one of the main goals of the 33-Day War was the realization a new Middle East plan to attack the countries which support Palestine and the Resistance Axis.
His Eminence said that when their plan to divide the region and form a new Middle East through this war against Hezbollah was defeated, they initiated a new project. In this plan, they aimed to create a war in Syria and Iraq and fan the flames of war toward Lebanon.
“Contrary to what some people are saying in regard to the war in Syria, has drastically enhanced Hezbollah’s military power. Today, our goals and the goals of our enemies are one, just as the enemies’ scheme is also one but the tools and ways that the enemies resort to is different from ours,” he said.
He added that sometimes the enemies use military force and sometimes they introduce people wearing clerical robes and turbans who appear as the champions of Islam and adhere to the provisions of Islamic law, such as prayer, but in fact, they are a method to attack Islam.
Shaykh al-Habli said that all wars and sedition which has overtaken the region is actually the continuation of the project to form a new Middle East. In regard to this, some Arab countries such as Jordan and Egypt are cooperating with Zionist regime. The enemies were disappointed when the military option against Lebanon didn’t achieve its objectives, they launched their next option – to target Syria through means of Takfiri terrorist attacks.
“Syria was a benchmark for the countries claiming to support the Resistance and in this test, some governments and political movements who supported Israel in 2006, have became the enemies of Hezbollah,” he added.
