'Our forces are to liberate Mosul': Iraqi cleric

"Our forces are to liberate Mosul," said Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi sternly warning of the fallouts of political turmoil in Iraq’s parliament over preparing a launch a massive operation to purge ISIL.

Friday Prayer Leader of Najaf,  Hojjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadruddin stressed Iraqi forces were ready to liberate Iraq’s second largest city, warning sternly of the fallouts of political turmoil in Iraq’s parliament over preparing a launch a massive operation to purge ISIL from Mosul, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

“The current conflict in parliament is very perilous and we need God’s assistance to sort out the setback,” pointed out urging political figures in the country to work in tandem so as to purge and uproot Takfiri groups in Iraq.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi demanded Iraqi authorities to preserve their unity, eliminate civil war and refrain from any step leads to dispersion favoring only extremist groups.

His Eminence offered his sincere congratulations on the liberation of the strategic city of al-Khalidiyah in al-Anbar province from ISIL forces and stated that Iraqi forces are preparing to liberate Mosul but added that at the same time, much had left to be done and they should pay attention to the needs of the tens of thousands of displaced people and prepare accommodations for them.

It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Army, recently has successfully established full control over Khaldiyah, a river peninsula and populated area in Anbar province.

This came after a two-week long battle between Iraqi armed forces and Daesh terrorists along the Euphrates River. Sources say the capture of al-Khaldiyah has opened the highway between the two strategic cities of Fallujah and al-Ramadi.

The Daesh terrorists have gained notoriety for their barbarity, heinous atrocities and sacrilegious acts. The militants have been accused of committing gross human rights violations and war crimes in the areas they control in Iraq and neighboring Syria.
