'People's will in Turkish failed coup should be respected'

"People stood against the botched putsch and such will of people should be respected," said the representative of Assyrians in Parliament, Yonathan BetkoliaIn.

 
The representative of Assyrians in Parliament,  Yonathan BetkoliaIn an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) demanded Turkish authorities and officals to take lessons from the the attempted Coup failed in the long run which proved the existence of many opponents of Turkish national and foreign policy in the country.

"The main reason of the military coup failure was in fact people standing against it and foiling the botched putsch, given that such want and will of people should be respected," pointed out the political analyst.

Parliament member hailed the stance taken by Iranian officials as to this event, inasmuch as Iran was the first country that took a stance on the coup plot in Turkey and expressed concerns about the chaos in the neighboring country.

According to Yonathan Betkolia, Iran Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif and the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani moved fast in expressing concerns, denouncing an attempted military coup and fully supporting the legitimate Turkish government, and such reaction of theirs was literally significant.
 
"They, in point of fact, used public diplomacy, respecting will of Turkish people siding with legitimate Turkish government," highlighted the representative of Assyrians in Parliament.
 
Yonathan Betkolia beckoend to the stance taken by Saudi Arabia with this regard and pointed out, Saudi Arabia tried to project itself as gendarme of the region, and may be it had enjoyed such position once, but in the here and now the country and its officials failed in advancing their objectives.

The coup attempt, launched late on Friday, plunged Turkey into hours of chaos unseen in decades during which soldiers and tanks took to the streets and multiple explosions rang out throughout the night in Ankara and Istanbul.
