Sectarian division, most effective weapon for enemies
Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought met with a group of Sunni and Shia Parliament members, stressing intrigue and sectarian clashes as the most effective weapon used by the enemies to uproot Islam, Islamic revolution and Islamic awakening movements, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The cleric, managing the most renowned Islamic unity center in Iran, noted solidarity, proximity and confrontation with Takfri (excommunication) extremists as the most important priorities for the world of Islam.

He stressed,” All our present issues in the world of Islam are in relation with sectarian differences and ethnic disagreements to the point that enemies are using the issue as the most influential weapon against Islam, Islamic revolution and Islamic awakening movement.”

Ayatollah Araki stressed promotion of Islamic proximity as the mission for all organizations in the country demanding all to take steps in line with boosting unity and confrontation with religious division.

Shia cleric expressed regret that,” At no point during history have we been witness to such a unity among enemies that now, even in the farthest parts in the Muslim world, enemies are hatching plots and sparking disagreement among Muslims.”

“Although World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought is a pioneer of confrontation with religious intrigues, efforts against religious dispersion should not be confined to the center” said the cleric and demanded all organizations to contribute to the end.

The cleric proposed formation of a Parliamentary proximity fraction comprising both Shia and Sunni representatives so that the group supports all state organizations in line with boosting unity, diplomacy of unity and creation of a unified Islamic nation.

He demanded representatives to propose ban on desecration of religious sanctities in a bid to support and pass that as a law.

Representatives in this meeting expressed their support for the proposal to launch proximity fraction in Parliament and discussing their views on necessity of boosting unity and proximity in the world of Islam and also support for activities carried out by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
