'Eid-ul-Fitr is collective festival in Islam': religious cleric

"Eid-ul-Fitr should be counted as the source of unity among Muslims from all sects and denominations," stressed Friday Prayer of Kermanshah.

"Eid-ul-Fitr is a collective festival in the divine religion of Islam which by nature should be counted as the source of unity among Muslims from all sects and denominations," pointed out Friday Prayer of Kermanshah, Ayatollah Mohammad Hojjatie, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The senior cleric congratulated Muslims on the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Fitr, extending his warmest wishes to Muslims and religious leaders across the world.

Expressing his sincere hope that congenital bonds among all nations further consolidate on the bases kindness and the establishment of sustainable peace in the region, the religious cleric added, "In this Eid, Muslims are called by angels and told all your sins have been forgiven in the holy month."

In his line, the holy month of Ramadan provides the way for Muslims to turn back to the right track in the future closing to God Almighty in the long run.

The conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan culminates in the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which is one of the main Muslim holidays.

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan - the ninth month on the Islamic calendar - when Muslims refrain from dawn to dusk from eating, drinking, smoking, and indulging in anything that is in excess or ill-natured.

Muslims believe Ramadan to be an auspicious month for the revelations of God to humankind, given the belief that it was in Ramadan when the first verses of the Holy Qur'an were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
