Shia cleric forbids production of intriguing movie

Top Iranian jurisprudent has banned production of movie on history of Islam warning against the project which will desecrate Sunni sanctities.
Shia cleric forbids production of intriguing movie
Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, senior Shia cleric, has issued a statement and banned fundraising and production of a movie destroying the figure of Sunni caliphs, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

A group of Muslim followers of Ayatollah Makarem has demanded the cleric for his view on a movie which is reportedly directed and casted by prominent western crew members showing the life of Hazrat Zahra (AS), daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and how the first caliph and his companions raided the lady’s house.

According to the letter quoting Shia manager of London-based television channel, Yasser al-Habib, this movie will ruin the reputation and high character of Sunni caliphs.

Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi in his statement has stressed,” Certainly he who contributes to production and broadcasting or watching such films has committed a sin particularly at present when any division among Muslims is a victory for enemies (of Islam).”

The cleric noted,” Such projects carry great religious burden and probably anti-Islamic figures who produce such films have enough liberty in the production process.”

Iranian Shia scholar warned against any bloodshed as a result of probable provocations or disagreements following the film and said all crew members will be counted responsible for the imminent repercussions.

Ayatollah Makarem demanded a clear announcement on disavowal of those who pursue Muslim division through provocative projects like Doomsday Movie which is under production and that the messages of this film are deviant from Islam and lifestyle of Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
