Tehran Int’l Quran Expo to Kick off

The 24th edition of Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition will be officially inaugurated in a ceremony on Monday, June 13.

Two Quranic and religious works will be unveiled at the ceremony, slated to begin at 7 P.M. local time at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla here in the Iranian capital.

Iranian Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Ali Jannati and a number of other high ranking cultural, religious and Quranic officials will attend the opening function.

An exquisite copy of the Holy Quran and a 12-volume book on Nahj al-Balagha are the two works to be unveiled at the event.

The ceremony will begin with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by prominent Iranian Qari Mohammad Hossein Saeedian and then director of the exhibition will present a report on the stages of preparations made for the expo.

According to Iqna, the international Quranic event will continue until June 30. The motto of the 24th edition of the international Quran exhibition in Tehran is "Towards Understanding the Quran”.

The expo, which is annually held in the Iranian capital during Ramadan, has numerous sections each one dedicated to a certain activity related to the Quran.
