'Iran immunized against enemy plots'

Minister of Information Hojjatoleslam Seyed Mahmoud Alawi said on Wednesday that the popular nature of Iran's Islamic revolution has immunized the country against enemy conspiracies.
Addressing a gathering to mark the 37th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Hojjatoleslam Alawi said the 10-Day Dawn celebrations should be taken as an opportunity for commemoration of martyrs of the Revolution and those of the eight-year Sacred Defense (1980-88), a term used in Iran to referr to the times when the country was involved in a war imposed by the then Iraqi Ba'ath regime.

'Iran's Islamic Revolution is fundamentally different with other revolutions taken place in Russia, France and Egypt because those revolutions were resulted from a military movement or armed campaign while Iran's Islamic Revolution has rooted in the Islamic movement of the Iranian people,' said the minister.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the upcoming parliamentary and Experts Assembly elections stressing they will be held in complete security.

The official also hoped for a huge public turnout in the elections.
