Police and medical sources said on Saturday that in one bombing near a security checkpoint in Tarmiya, about 25 kilometers (15 miles) north of Baghdad, six people were killed, including five members of the security forces and one civilian.

The sources said in a second bomb attack two more were killed and nine wounded in the northwestern district of Duwanim.

A third bomb attack in the Nahrawan area, south of the capital, left one person dead and six injured, the sources said.

Police have also found the dead bodies of three men in northern Baghdad who had been shot in the chest and head, execution style.

No group or individual has taken responsibility for the Saturday attacks. However, the Takfiri Daesh terrorists are often considered to be the main suspect in such attacks.

The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by the Daesh terrorists, who began their spread of terror through some parts of the Iraqi territory in June 2014.
