Bahrain largest base for Takfiri terrorists

A senior member of the Central Council of Islamic Scholars of Bahrain referred to recent events in the country and attacks on mourners and announced that the country has become the largest base for the activities of Takfiri terrorist groups.

"Bahrain has become fertile ground for the crimes of terrorist organizations," Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad al-Mansi, a member of the Central Council of Islamic Scholars of Bahrain, stressed.

The Lebanese scholar stated that last Friday’s (October 16) attacks by unknown persons on Shi’ite mourners at husayniyah’s in the towns of al-Hamalah and Dumistan marks a major threat by the Takfiris terrorists, such as ISIL, reported Rasa.

He noted that a new branch of ISIL, calling itself the Wilayat al-Bahrain issued a statement in which it has indicated that they are planning attacks in all Islamic lands.

The statement comes as Shi’ite Muslims mourn the seventh-century martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson Imam Husayn, and the threat of increased attacks by ISIL against Shi’ites during the solemn month.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Mansi said that today, the danger of ISIL to all nations and governments in the region, including Bahrain, is obvious, but Bahrain itself has provided the environment for such extremist activities.

The Bahraini scholar said that from 2011 to the present day, the Al Khalifa regime has been demolishing Shi’ite mosques throughout the tiny Persian Gulf island country. So far, as much as human rights organizations have tried to get the Bahraini government to offer an apology and punish the perpetrators of the numerous crimes against the majority Shi’ite population, not only have they refused to pursue those responsible for the destruction of mosques, but they have considered the perpetrators innocent.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Mansi criticized the Bahrani government’s improper actions in regard to their rampant and official sectarian discrimination against the various Islamic schools and sects living in the country, saying the government’s behaviour clearly indicates that the Bahraini authorities have no respect for the Shi’ite sanctities.

The regime’s oppression of its Shi’ite population has resulted in a situation where Shi’ite citizens have no trust in the government.

“The Al Khalifa regime is the greatest supporter of ISIL and due to this, Bahrain has become the best base for the growth and development of the Takfiri phenomenon,” he said.
