Iranian Shia cleric attending the conference on religious unity as a national obligation stressed finding hurdles for unity as the most important solution for realization of Islamic unity.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Ali Kheyrkhah, head of the Islamic center in Northern Iran, participated in the national obligations for religious unity in view of the media, held in the Northern Province of Golestan, saying that had not been any disagreement between Islamic denominations, there would have been no place for the Zionist regime of Israel and US, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” If there was no disagreement in the world of Islam, the Zionist regime could have had no place in the heart of the Muslim world and the US could not have committed these crimes in the Islamic states.”
 
He highlighted solidarity as an important teaching of Islam and added,” Muslim world with more than 57 members and a population of 1’700 billion people across the world, does not practice its’ preaches on necessity of unity among its members.”
 
Representative of the Supreme Leader in Sunni Affairs noted that the way for realization of unity in the Muslim world is a deep understanding of unity and undermining the hurdles for the objective adding,” By unity we do not mean that the Islamic denominations should be mingled in each other to form a single school of thought, rather we mean to uproot theoretical and practical hurdles on the way of unity.”
 
The scholar also hailed the struggles by Shia and Sunni figures for boosting solidarity among Muslims.
 
He counted reference to the holy Qur’an and lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), maintaining moral and religious values, highlighting Islamic commonalities, expanding a morale of cooperation and tolerance in reaction to the opposite side, respecting the sanctities of other denominations, maintaining politeness in talks and also prevention of prejudiced propaganda on other denominations as the most important practical solutions for boosting solidarity among Muslims.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Ali Kheyrkhah underlined maintaining moral principles in talks and behavioral reactions with other denominations and noted,” Disrespecting others can lead to provocation and hostility making a block on the path of Islamic unity because goodness, avoiding misbehavior and ill reactions are among the principles stressed in the holy religion of Islam.
