Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Marzieh Afkham, on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event and offered Tehran’s sympathy to the families of the victims.

Indonesian Transport Ministry spokesman J.A. Barata said on Tuesday that the bodies of all 54 people who had been on board a passenger plane have been found. Nobody survived the crash.

The ATR 42-300 turboprop plane, which was operated by the Indonesian carrier Trigana Air, went missing after losing contact with air control in the country’s eastern Papua region on Sunday.

Search and rescue chief Bambang Soelistyo also said on Tuesday that the plane was “completely destroyed. Everything was in pieces and part of the plane is burnt. We could see burn marks on some pieces.”

There was no information about the 6.5 billion rupiah (470,000 dollars) that the turboprop plane reportedly had on board. The large sum of money was intended to be distributed among poor and needy families as social assistance funds.
