He said Iran leads the resistance and the country’s success in the negotiations is the triumph of the truth and the steadfastness of freedom-seeking nations, Libanonfiles reported.
Sheikh Qassem added that Iran, through its 12-year resistance, managed to force world powers, especially the US, to recognize its nuclear rights.
“The Lausanne Statement was a great victory for Iran and the recognition of Iran’s position and role in the region and the world,” he underlined.
The senior Hezbollah official went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran, which symbolizes resistance against the Israeli regime’s occupation and against Takfiri terrorists, revived dignity and independence in the region.
Iran and the P5+1 group (Russia, China, France, Britain, the US, and Germany) along with officials from the European Union reached a mutual understanding on Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program after eight days of marathon talks in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Thursday.
According to a joint statement, considered the basis for a final nuclear deal, the two sides have devised a mechanism to lift sanctions after the agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is reached by the end of June.
