'Islam has firm stands on human rights'

The head of Aemeh Athar Jurisprudence, Ayatollah Mohammad-Javad Fazel Lankarani, said on Wednesday that Islam has clear and firm stands on the issue of human rights and all religious and scientific centers should express it explicitly.
Addressing the international gathering on Islamic-Scientific and human rights, the Ayatollah said there are numerous topics on human rights in our religious books as well as holy Quran and the western scientific centers, which seek respecting and honoring dignity of humanity.

Major portion of crimes and atrocities, committed by Daesh Takfiri terrorists, should not be attributed to Islam as they have no belief in Islam and never honor the traditions and guidelines of holy prophet, he said.

War has a set of rules in Islam whose scope is not limited to humanity in Islam, said the Ayatollah, adding that poisoning waters or chopping trees have been forbidden in Islam, he said.

Daesh was created by the Zionist regime and the western nations should know that they have no faith in Islam but they commit crimes under the guise of Islam, he said.

The two-day international gathering is to study challenges and prospects of international human rights in Islam.
