The bombing, which happened in a cell phone market on Saturday, also injured 33 people.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. However, Iraqi officials usually blame such attacks on Takfiri ISIL terrorists.
Sadr City, which is located in eastern Baghdad, has been frequently hit by terrorist attacks in recent years.
Iraq’s overall security situation has worsened over the past few months as the ISIL terrorists, of whom many are foreign nationals, have taken control of some parts of the country.
They have been committing heinous crimes in the captured areas, including mass executions and beheadings.
