28th International Unity Conference opens in Tehran
The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought holds the 28th annual Conference on Unity matters between Islamic thoughts.

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, the secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought expressed the hope that the conference brings prominent Muslim figures together to discuss ways for confronting discord. His Excellency will start the conference today by his speech, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki in the opening ceremony expressed hope that the conference will be an effective step towards realization of high Islamic objectives.
He called the present situation of Islam as quite exceptional saying,"In an era when Islamic awakening has promised a renaissance for Islamic identity, deviate hostile hands, representing enemies of Islam, could not tolerate the great Islamic movement and spared no effort for dispersing Muslims.
Ayatollah Araki highlighted the important mission of Muslim scholars expressing hope that the conference aimed for creating unity and solving the challenges ahead of the Islamic community will help plans for realization of unified Islamic ummah.
He said," Here we urge heads of all Islamic states to struggle for boosting Islamic solidarity particularly in the crisis-hit countries.
He added," Politicians and heads of the Islamic states meet the demands of their nations with more efforts and replacing patience and open mindedness with extremism following the high teachings of the holy Qur'an."
The Islamic unity conference is an annual event that provides an opportunity for scholars to share views and review problems facing Muslims while presenting solutions.
The World Forum for Proximity, the organizer of the conference, is an international organization founded by Iran. Its main aim is to create more unity and solidarity among Muslims worldwide, regardless of their schools of thought.
The theme for the 28th International Islamic unity conference is “Unified Islamic Ummah: Challenges and Solutions”.
In this annual meeting more than 1300 Muslim thinkers came from more than 65 countries worldwide.
