The 15th edition of a national Quran memorization and recitation competition in Japan will be held on December 31 in Tokyo, the capital.

According to panorientnews.com, the city’s Otsuka Mosque will host the competition.

The Arabic-Islamic Research Center in Hiroo district, the World Association of Quran Memorization and the Muslim World League will also cooperate in holding the Quranic event.

Muslims from different age groups from all over the country will participate in various categories of the competition including memorization of more than one Surah (chapter) of Quran, more than a half Juz (part), more than one Juz, more than two Juzes, more than five Juzes, memorization of the entire Quran and Quran recitation.

Top participants will be awarded Umrah (minor Hajj) pilgrimage packages.
Sideline programs of the competition will include Tawasheeh (religious songs) performance and Ibtihal recitations.
