Rey to Host 2nd Quranic Session on Sidelines of Int’l Quran Contest

The second Quran recitation session planned on the sidelines of the 5th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students will be held tonight, December 30, at the holy shrine of Abdul Azim Al-Hasani (AS) in Rey city.

‘Aqeel Hussein Al-Munawwar from Indonesia will recite verses from the Holy Quran at the program, which is set to begin after the congregational evening prayers at the holy shrine.

Some 20 Quran recitation sessions have been planned to be held on the sidelines of the competition.

The first was held on December 29 in Tehran’s Shahid Beheshti Mosque.
Three Qaris including Mohammad Kamaluddin Leeam from Thailand recited verses from the Holy Book in the first night of the sessions.

Mosques, universities, cultural centers and religious centers in Tehran host the Quranic sessions held with the participation of prominent Iranian Qaris as well as a number of contestants from other countries.

The fifth international Quran Contest for Muslim Students will start in the Iranian capital on January 1.

Representatives of more than 50 countries will compete in different categories of the competition, which will run for four days.

Vaheed Khazayi and Mohammadjavad Mohammadi Majd will represent Iran respectively in the categories of recitation and memorization of the entire Quran.
