Biden criticized Israel Saturday for its settlement projects in the occupied territories and destroying the Palestinians’ homes, calling the demolition of homes “collective punishment.”

He also urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop “vigilante justice” attacks against Palestinians.

Paul Larudee, co-founder of Free Palestine Movement, spoke to Press TV on Monday and said Israel does not care about Biden’s comments.

“When my grandson criticizes me for saying something, I take it more seriously than when Israel takes remarks of Joe Biden,” he said.

“This is because I care about my grandson even though he has no power over me, but in the case of Israel they care nothing for Vice President Joe Biden of the most powerful country on Earth, because they know that he cannot and will not do anything to enforce his words,” he added.

“He’s playing to some sense of credibility to the American people who are becoming more critical of Israel, but Israel is not going to take it seriously,” Larudee continued.

In November, the US Department of Defense announced plans to arm Israel with 3,000 smart bombs as part of Washington’s military aid to Tel Aviv.

The United States provides Israel with more than $8 million in military aid per day, adding up to over $3 billion annually.

Earlier this week, lawmakers in Congress passed a bill to deepen Washington's bonds with Tel Aviv.

The US House of Representatives on Wednesday unanimously approved the US-Israel Strategic Partnership Act of 2014, which reflects "the sense of Congress that Israel is a major strategic partner of the United States," and declares Washington's "unwavering support" for Israel.

The legislation passed the Senate unanimously in September and now goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.
