Pashaei’s funeral ceremony was held at the Vahdat Hall in Tehran on Sunday. He was due to be laid to rest at Behesht-e Zahra cemetery, but the turnout of his fans was so huge that his body could not be transferred to its resting place and the burial had to be postponed to a later time.

Pashaei, with millions of Persian-speaking fans across the world, passed away in Tehran on Friday after a long battle with cancer.

The 30-year-old singer had been suffering from stomach cancer for several months. On Tuesday, he was taken out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital after his chemotherapy for the aggressive cancer failed.

The graphic design student had been interested in art since childhood. He started learning music at 14 through playing the guitar.

Gole Bita (Bita’s Flower), Yeki Hast (There\'s Someone) and Esme Eshqe (The Name of Love) are among major albums released by Pashaei.
