Zarif calls for cooperation of regional countries

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday called for close cooperation among countries in the region in campaign against terrorist groups including Daesh Takfiris.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the new Turkish Ambassador to Tehran Reza Hakan Tekin.

The Turkish ambassador submitted a copy of his credentials to Zarif.

Zarif described relations between the two countries are excellent.

He expressed the hope to witness expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Given the very complicated situation in the region, Zarif called for close cooperation among countries in the region in fight with terrorist groups and Daesh Takfiris in particular.

The countries in the region have faced with many challenges and the only way to resolve them is close cooperation and consultations, he said.

Zarif called for removal of the problems in transportation between the two countries.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to remove hurdles in the way of expanding cooperation between Iran and Turkey, Zarif said.

The Turkish new ambassador, for his part, expressed satisfaction over his visit to Iran and said there exist ample of untapped capacities to develop economic cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador said that the Turkish government is willing to find a solution to resolve the issue of truck-load transit cooperation.

Highlighting the danger of Daesh Takfiri group, he said the terrorist group is regarded as a threat to Turkey's national interests and the country has suffered from the Takfiri terrorism.
